SeeStack - Parse ColdFusion Thread Dumps Like a Pro!

Sleestacks are scary stuff in The Land of the Lost, and so are ColdFusion MX thread dumps.

So many threads, so many stacks, what to do, what to do?

Never fear, SeeStack is here! ... from Webapper, the folks who make SeeFusion. A very helpful utility similar to SeeStack is used by Adobe ColdFusion Support Techs like me. SeeStack can quickly suck up gobs and gobs of those gnarly thread dumps₍₁₎ on one end and spit out₍₂₎ just the highlights of what you need to know on the other end.

To debug applications that seemed slow or hung, I used to manually read those unsightly stacks while my eyes would glaze over. But then I emerged from the primordial world and started using a stack trace analyzer. SeeStack will make debugging bottlenecks pages much, much easier and far less time consuming.

Land of the lost... its been a loooong time... I used to love that show. Is there really a sleestack fan club?

Lol i remember the sleestacks, boy it makes me feel real old...

BTw, can we see any sample screenshots, so we know what part of the debug/error is the stack code to cut n paste...

Craig, click through the link to the Webapper blog and ask them to post a screenshot if you don't have a spare thread dump file hanging around. The application isn't being given away, but rather you can use it on their site to paste and report on your thread dumps.

In short, you paste in whole log files or just a relevant section of a log containing one or many complete thread dumps. Then it finds the cfm requests in each dump and reports what they were doing and if any of them were doing the same thing between two adjacent thread dumps. Search my blog for thread dumps and you'll see more advise about how to get useful information from them.
