TalkingTree  Concord At Night

Photographs of Concord, MA at night, well after midnight actually. These are mostly long exposures of 15 to 30 seconds while the moonlight was strong. Twice the police stopped to investigate and check my ID since I was the only person on the streets. See the whole set on Flickr or here.

Earlier that day, I just happened to catch a beautiful sunset after week of the worst rains in Massachusetts.

Nice. So, what did your id tell the police about whether or not you were allowed to be on the streets of Concord at night? Are only Concord residents allowed in Concord at night? Or perhaps only some other subset of people? I wasn't aware we were required to carry id's with us at all times. I wonder if these episodes will make it into the Concord police logs in the local newspaper :)

One of them jotted down my name and address. I imagine that if the town experienced a break in that night that I would have been the first door they came knocking at.

Can't blame them.... At 2am a middle age guy kneeling in front of a store front window wearing a black jacket and hat... That's pretty suspicious to me :)

By the way, in many european countries it is required to carry your national ID at all times. I think that's a good idea.

I'm famous! My first appearance in the Concord Journal, the town's newspapers, is a reference in the Police logs!!

Sunday, Oct. 16 - At 1:23 a.m., officer on patrol reported a male subject on foot in the Milldam. Officer spoke with the individual, who was taking photos for a college course.

Steven, these are fabulous! Such an interesting look at Concord. I love that you can see the stars in the sky in some of these. And funny that Concord's Finest stopped you and that you ended up on the police logs! Are you really taking a college course??

Hi Leslee, what a coincidence! I was just reading your blog, and I commented there that I'm taking digital SLR course at DeCordova.

THe weekly police logs are a great source of amusement, and I'm delighted to know that I've made my contribution!
