Guelaguetza at Oaxaca (27 of 121)
The last two Mondays in July are celebrated with a festival called the Guelaguetza. This celebration has a deep indiginous tradition and is carried out in a stadium located on a prominent hill nearby, called Cerro del Fortin. Here, some dancers prepare for a photo event which I was lucky enough to discover. The event cost about 300 pesos to attend, but it can be watched on one of the many TV's tuned into it throughout the city.
